July 7, 2005/ The Jade Market

Yesterday when Mom came back from the Orphanage, she was told their daughter Anna finally smiled starting in the afternoon! Mom saw her first smile when she rushed into the room and hugged/kissed her. Anna was giggling, clapping and playing peek-a-pool with Ge Ge (big brother). Oh my, did we see her smile! Whenever we see our children smile, all the emotional and physical exhaustion simply go away!
Today we spent more than two hours doing paperwork for the US government. Peter wanted to make sure there were no mistakes in any of our paperwork. Otherwise we would not get a US visa and we could not bring our babies home. That afternoon most families went to the Jade Market. The shopping experience was exciting and also exhausting. Mom got a pair of matching purple jade bracelets for Anna and herself, and two green jade necklace pendants one with a monkey (the year Anna was born) and another one with a dragon (the year Ben was born). Dad got a jade ox sculpture.
